The Pechanga theatre brimmed with giggles and palpable anticipation as a packed house waited for story-telling comedian Ron White to take the stage.

White, known for his blistering and candid musings on growing up in central Texas, married life, divorced life and re-married life held the Pechanga showroom in his bourbon-laden hand.

Jokes came zinging in left and right with a calm ferocity as White slowly sipped his signature beverage and kept the crowd crooning along with his every word.

According to his website, White lived the life of a struggling comedian for two decades, bouncing around between comedy clubs and driving to performances in his beat-up Nissan pickup truck, before becoming a successful comic.

In the early part of the decade, White made his name when he was taken under the wing of Blue Comedy Tour’s brainchild Jeff Foxworthy.

Since then, White has become a staple on the comedy circuit rousing crowds with his stinging brand of jokes about things many people think, but don’t discuss openly.

Certain members of the  crowd blushed and sometimes cringed as White hurled jokes in his trademark deadpan manner.

“This is the second time we have seen him,” Trish Hollander said. “He just finds a way to dig in and pull out what we all are thinking, but don’t want to admit.”

White laughed and rolled with his own jokes as he slowly paced the stage and wove his comic magic around the lively audience.

“I love this place,” he said.

As he related his experiences about travelling and touring, the crowd hung on every word, many on the edge of their seat taking in all the dry and brutal observances he shared.

Not for the faint of heart, he didn’t hold back and smiled a mile wide as he peppered the audience with adult humor that had everyone laughing, clapping and cheering.

After over an hour of dazzling the crowd, White wound it down and thanked everyone for “coming out.”

Bursts of laughter and a hearty round of applause enveloped White as he bid farewell and left the stage leaving many people wanting more.

“He is our favorite,” San Diego resident Brad Shannon said. “I can’t wait to see him again.”
